To keep global warming below 1.5C, governments need to take action on different levels:
• Take stock of the status quo of emissions and global warming;
• define abatement targets and associated measures for attaining them;
• monitor the progress achieved.
All of these measures depend on a robust Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system for transport mitigation actions. Guided by two personas, Ms. Taraji Noor, a senior transport expert and Mr. Tuan Đặng, official at his country’s Ministry of Transport, supporting you through the three self-paced modules:

Module 1: Introduction to transport and climate change
Module 2: Basic approaches for calculating the GHG emissions of transport.
Module 3: Emissions mitigation and modelling

The project "Rethinking Transport. Connecting Minds for African Solutions" supports the development of positions and strategies for the sustainable transformation of the transport sector on the African continent. Through workshops, development labs and a fellowship programme, the project will bring together stakeholders from academia, civil society and the private sector and facilitate an exchange on the most pressing issues surrounding sustainable mobility in Africa.
